Joey Cohn Bar Mitzvah

It was a Batman Bar Mitzvah... and it was off the hook!

Joey and his family had us there for photo & video coverage of this fantastic celebration. The ceremony was wonderful to witness. (Congrats Joey!). The party was incredible! From the perfect Gotham themed decor to the casino games to the outstanding DJs who kept the dance floor pumping, it was enormous fun to be a part of.

Here's the evidence...

Chandra & Chris Cinematic Edit

It rained that day. Thankfully it waited till the outdoor ceremony was over, but honestly, even if it had poured all through the ceremony, the amount of love and good feelings surrounding Chandra and Chris would have kept us all warm.

I really enjoyed the whole process from our initial meeting, through getting to know everyone a little better throughout the day, to adding the finishing touches to the final cinematic edit. Working with Tammy from Divine Weddings made the day run smooth as silk. And the Danny Kramer Band killed it on the dance floor too. There's nothing like live music.

Fun times for all...

Jasreen & Jasvir - NDE

Nobody parties like an East Indian wedding party. It's 5 days of festivities and by the end of the week people usually look a little haggard. Not Jasreen and Jasvir. At midnight on Sunday night they were out there ripping up the dance floor, huge smiles on their faces.

We shot both photo and video for this wedding so there is a lot of amazing imagery for you to enjoy today.

A big than you to the team for all your hard work this week. (Aaron, Lise, Maddy and Tamara... you guys rocked it!)

Here we go...

This is the Next day Edit which is a 10 minute edit of the weeks events leading up to (but not including) the reception...

These are some of my favourite photos from the week. Just a little taste of things to come...

Please click "like" and "share" below on Facebook so everyone who was there gets to see this amazing couple again!

Ashley & Hugh - Photo and Video Highlights

It was a scorching day. We had been walking around in the park for a couple of hours getting some pretty spectacular images and footage....

So what do you do when you've been in a heavy suit and dress tramping around the forest? You go grab a two four at the L.C. of course... in your dress!

Now that you're suitably refreshed, you go down to the river for more breezy photos.

And a little fun with the boys...

There will be time later for more emotions and a bit of romance when we get to the reception....

And, when it's all said and done, if you hire the right videography company, you will have a beautiful movie about the whole day too...

Congratulations Ashley and Hugh. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of your day. We had so much fun shooting you guys. My only complaint... I wish I could have been there for the trash the dress session too... that looked AWESOME! (readers: it was out of town and I was shooting another wedding. They went into the bush hunting in a wedding dress!!!)

Cristylee and Darryl - Teaser

I am always looking for new and interesting ways to shoot video during the "photoshoot" part of the wedding. I prefer to refer to it as the "let's have fun and try stuff" part of the day. It's the one chance we as cinematographers get to actually experiment during a wedding. The rest of the day is stacked with unmissable, one take and its all over, type moments that you don't really want to try stuff out on. You have to nail those shots 100% of the time. No room for error. No take 2. During the part of the day between the ceremony and the reception we get to let our creative juices flow. We get to pose you. We get to experiment and sometimes we even get enough time to shoot something twice.

This was an interesting little move that will be part of the cinematic feature for cristylee and Darryl's video a few months from now. I just wanted to share a little teaser of it now. It's a first attempt at the technique, but I think you can see where I am going with this. Thanks to the wedding party for playing my game!
