Driving through the canola fields on a sunny Summer day. Red Ferrari. Top down. What could be better than that? It really was a perfect day for Jayelle and Benji's wedding. From the first look through to the bouquet toss it was just a fantastic experience. But don't take my word for it. Here's the proof:

It rained that day. Thankfully it waited till the outdoor ceremony was over, but honestly, even if it had poured all through the ceremony, the amount of love and good feelings surrounding Chandra and Chris would have kept us all warm.
I really enjoyed the whole process from our initial meeting, through getting to know everyone a little better throughout the day, to adding the finishing touches to the final cinematic edit. Working with Tammy from Divine Weddings made the day run smooth as silk. And the Danny Kramer Band killed it on the dance floor too. There's nothing like live music.
Fun times for all...
I just had the pleasure of dropping off Sherelle and Oliver's finished movie at their new house in a new development in Winnipeg yesterday. I love new beginnings. A fresh start. The first step on a long journey.
Oliver and Sherelle had lived across the street from each other for ages. They got together when Sherelle needed some help with her math skills. (Being an artist myself, I can totally relate!). Oliver pointed her in the right direction and clearly charmed his way into her heart!
When I shoot a wedding I get a unique window into people's family life and their relationships. The overwhelming impression from both families and also from Sherelle and Oliver, was a warmth and mutual respect. These are people who love life and love each other. At least, that's how it feels to be around them! Why don't you watch this and see what I mean...
Nobody parties like an East Indian wedding party. It's 5 days of festivities and by the end of the week people usually look a little haggard. Not Jasreen and Jasvir. At midnight on Sunday night they were out there ripping up the dance floor, huge smiles on their faces.
We shot both photo and video for this wedding so there is a lot of amazing imagery for you to enjoy today.
A big than you to the team for all your hard work this week. (Aaron, Lise, Maddy and Tamara... you guys rocked it!)
Here we go...
This is the Next day Edit which is a 10 minute edit of the weeks events leading up to (but not including) the reception...
These are some of my favourite photos from the week. Just a little taste of things to come...
Please click "like" and "share" below on Facebook so everyone who was there gets to see this amazing couple again!
It's no secret that East Indian weddings are my favourite. It's the colours, the different traditions and the scale of the receptions that provide so much opportunity for us to be creative film makers. It also helps when the couple is as wonderful as Manpreet and Komal were all week.
The NDE (Next day Edit) is just a little taste of all the events that take place during the week. For this edit, I found it really difficult to keep it short. At 9 minutes, it's still pretty long for this type of edit but I could have made it 15 minutes with all the fantastic footage that came in from all my different shooters. I only wish I could show you guys the footage we captured at the reception now too. (You're just going to have to wait for the the cinematic feature film!). Let me just say, Events by Emma knocked it out of the park. It was, in a word, breathtaking.
So, without further ado:
